So we took a step back: we recovered, reassessed and reimagined the way we interact with one another at Culture Shock Canada. Now we’re back and proud to present the 2021 Culture Shock Canada Virtual Showcase: A Digital Experience.
Join us for this first of its kind Culture Shock Canada Virtual Showcase on Saturday August 28 at 7PM. This amazing online showcases will feature performances by Shock Family (Culture Shock, Future Shock, Mighty Shock and Afta Shock) as well as incredible youth and professional crews and special appearances and messages.

Come join us in celebrating Culture Shock Canada’s Showcase Launch Party and Awards, by supporting our cause and attending this fundraising Gala. Come network with Culture Shock Dancers, Directors, supporters and special guests to honour Award Nominees and Winners.
This unforgettable event will kick off the 2022 Showcase Weekend festivities and will include food, beverages and entertainment, as well as a silent auction with tons of amazing gifts and prizes. All proceeds will go directly into Culture Shock Canada’s Youth Outreach programming.

Ottawa will experience exceptional hip-hop and urban dance performances from local and international artists at the 2022 Culture Shock International Choreographer’s Showcase from October 20 to 23, 2022 at the Meridian Theatres. This year’s event is hosted by Culture Shock Canada, a local non-profit arts organization that educates, empowers and entertains young people through hip-hop and urban dance culture.
The International Choreographer’s Showcase features the city’s finest performance talent of all ages. The dance spectacle will also showcase a diverse group of teams from outside of Canada, with more than 25 dance troupes making the trip to Ottawa to perform from as far away as Switzerland. Performers also include troupes affiliated with international cities of the Culture Shock organization, including Chicago; Washington, DC; Los Angeles, Oakland, San Diego and Las Vegas.
The 2022 Culture Shock International Choreographer’s Showcase is a three-day celebration of the power and beauty of urban dance culture and its ability to transform communities. The schedule includes:
Thursday, October 20 – Culture Shock Canada 25th Anniversary Gala
A fundraiser dinner and celebration of 25 years of work engaging and empowering young people through Hip Hop dance and culture.
Friday, October 21 – Future Shock Youth Showcase
A dance spectacle featuring amazingly talented young performers from Canada and the U.S. All performers in the Youth Showcase are 18 years or younger.
Saturday, October 22 – Culture Shock Choreographer’s Showcase
Professional-level dance troupes will take to the stage to wow audiences with their exceptional dance talent, impressive choreography, and beautiful artistic pieces.
Sunday, October 23 – Culture Shock International Master Classes
Professional-level dance Master Classes will be held with internally acclaimed choreographers.
